At Volt Industrial Plastics we have continued to be extremely busy even though the world has seemed to stop. Since we ship fasteners all over the world, the demand has kept us blowing and going! Our success has drawn many customers in over the years - kind of like a good book you read that is riveting - except we really do rivets. The fastening kind!

Hopefully we’ve gotten your attention! When it comes to rivets, Volt leads the industry, manufacturing various types, sizes and colors of rivets. Here is a small breakdown of some of the rivets we manufacture:

SNAP RIVETS

snap rivet

They come in many different types and sizes. The main benefit of snap rivets is that they require no power tools for installation. You simply snap the male/female parts together for a quick and easy assembly. Many times, this is ideal when the end user is unlikely to have tools readily available and wanting a quick and easy setup. A perfect example is furniture. Someone is ordering your product from Amazon and assembling the item on their own. A few screws and bolts for the big stuff, and then the snap rivets to finish it off! Removal of these can be difficult, so it’s better suited for a more permanent application.

RATCHET RIVETS

These rivets are different from the snap version, mainly because they squeeze together to fit any panel thickness. They are most commonly used for cardboard displays, but they can be used in many other applications as well. They have serrated teeth that are used to grip onto each other when pushed together, and can come with an extension for wider panels.

Rachet Rivet

While our rivets come in all types of varieties, there are push-in clips that we offer as well to meet other needs, and hit different price points. These come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and are also easily installed. The two major categories of the clips that we offer are Christmas tree clips and canoe clips. Because of their design, the holding power is pretty substantial and permanent since they can't be easily pulled apart. Because the rivets are usually nylon, Volt Industrial Plastics can produce them in a variety of colors to the customer's needs. Because the assembled panel thickness varies from less than 1/4 up to 1.375 inches, they can be swapped for even more versatility, increasing the thickness, when needed, with the extensions which are a little less than 1.25 inches.

Ratchet Rivets have also been discovered by crafters. I think we can find a crafty use for nearly anything small enough to fit in a crafting room! The natural nylon can be colored with fabric dyes, the shade getting darker the longer they are left in the dye bath. Especially useful in scrapbooking, the smallest size can be used to hold small items to scrap pages. The dyed rivets are great as embellishments like flower centers (also for holding dimensional objects and flowers in place). If you have a machine that can cut vinyl, the heads are large enough that one can add decorations for more personalization. The rivets are great for holding pages together.
